Awesome transformative volunteer tutoring crew that works with children in the Bay area. (This is but one of a series of such facilities around the US.)

Awesomely creative approaches that give a quantum boost to children's education. Locally funded, locally developed facilities, locally recruited volunteers serve local schools at street level.

A playful atmosphere prevails, as the centers are housed behind stores such as "Pirate Supplies" and a "Superhero Supply Store."

Accepting his 2008 TED Prize, author Dave Eggers asks the TED community to personally, creatively engage with local public schools. With spellbinding eagerness, he talks about how his 826 Valencia tutoring center inspired others around the world.
